Pine High School’s Karson Voth
Pine High School’s Karson Voth is a two-sport athlete. The senior plays basketball and baseball.
In basketball, Voth is a guard. He is a second baseman and pitcher in baseball.
“Karon Voth, I’ve known him since he was a little kid in little league basketball,” Pine basketball coach Brett Cooper said. “He’s a good ballplayer, he’s a great leader on the court throughout my transition over here (from Varnado), he’s been a leader. I can always get him to get the team in line. He’s been a great leader for our younger guys.”
What do you enjoy most about playing your sports?
I really like the relationships I’ve gained with other teammates throughout my high school career. I’ve had a lot of friends come along and help me through some bad games and inspired me to play with more intensity.
What do you like best about being a student athlete?
The respect I’ve gained around the school really. It helps boost my confidence when I’m playing.
Who has been the most influential person in your school sports career? Why?
My family. They’ve been to basically every game. They’ve been there to cheer for me when I’ve done good and told me what I can work on when I’ve done bad.
Who is your favorite athlete? Why?
New Orleans Pelicans forward Zion Williamson. He’s real young and confident and a lot of high schoolers can relate to that.
Favorite team?
New Orleans Pelicans.
Best thing about living in Washington Parish?
It’s a real close and tight community. You can’t be afraid to ask for help because they’ll help you if you ask.
