4th COVID-19 case reported in parish

Washington Parish has seen its fourth case of COVID-19, the Louisiana Department of Health reported Wednesday afternoon when it released updated statistics about the pandemic.
The LDH reported at noon Wednesday that the state has seen 1,795 cases of COVID-19 and 65 deaths. On Tuesday, the state had reported 1,388 cases and 46 deaths.
As of Wednesday, there had been 48 parishes that had reported at least one case of COVID-19, out of 64 parishes in the state. There had been four reported cases in Washington Parish, with one death — the state had reported three cases in its Tuesday update.
There had been 67 cases in St. Tammany Parish, with one death, and five cases in Tangipahoa Parish, with no deaths.
The LDH said at noon Wednesday that there had been 2,037 tests completed by the state laboratory, and another 9,414 tests reported to the state by commercial labs. That is a total of 11,451 tests — there had been 8,603 tests reported in Tuesday’s update.
Out of the total of 11,451 tests reported Wednesday, 15.7 percent were positive for COVID-19. Out of the total of 1,795 cases, 65 had led to the patient’s death — a rate of 3.6 percent.
