Highway 436 lane closures planned

There will be daily intermittent lane closures of the westbound or eastbound lane on Louisiana Highway 436 between Burch Creek and Monroe Creek Road, through Thursday afternoon, April 9, at 6 p.m.
The contractor plans to place asphalt on driveways and install guardrail between Burch Creek and Louisiana Highway 62 (west of Pine). Also, the contractor plans to continue placing asphalt on driveways and install guardrail between Highway 62 and Monroe Creek Road (east of Pine), weather permitting. One lane will be open at all times.
There will be no lane closures from Thursday, April 9, at 6 p.m. through Monday morning, April 13, at 7 a.m.
Oversize loads over 10 feet wide are not allowed. Emergency vehicles will have access.
Motorists traveling westbound may use alternate routes such as Highway 436 at Monroe Creek Road to Highway 21, south on Highway 21 to Louisiana Highway 10 (Bogalusa), west on Highway 10 to Louisiana Highway 430 (Franklinton), north on Highway 430 to Highway 436, and west on Highway 436 to Burch Creek (near Chinqupin Road).
Motorists traveling eastbound may use alternate routes such as Highway 436 at Burch Creek (near Chinqupin Road), west on Highway 436 to Highway 430 (Franklinton), west on Highway 430 to Highway 10, east on Highway 10 to Highway 21 (Bogalusa), and north on Highway 21 to Highway 436.
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development appreciates citizens’ patience and reminds motorists to drive with caution and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
