Bowling Green School in Franklinton has announced that it will have a “virtual graduation ceremony” for seniors in the class of 2020.
The ceremony will be held Friday, May 8. It will have each senior arrive at the school at an appointed time, in order to receive a diploma and have a photo taken. Family members will be allowed to wait nearby in their cars, to witness the diploma presentation.
BGS principal Beverly Young said that she is still hopeful for a physical graduation ceremony in a future date, but thought this was the best compromise to honor this year’s seniors at the end of their actual school year.
As of this week, no additional graduation ceremony plans have been announced by other parish schools — including the Washington Parish and Bogalusa school systems.
