Pearl River’s Community College’s softball and baseball programs are each hosting a summer showcase.
The softball showcase is for unsigned high school athletes.
The Wildcat staff will welcome rising high school freshmen to graduated seniors to Wildcat Stadium on July 11.
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and the clinic will run from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Following a lunch break, games will commence at 2:30 p.m.
During the clinic, athletes will be tested on home-to-first and around-the-bases sprint speed, catcher pop times and pitcher velocity and spin rates.
Participants are asked to bring their own softball gear.
“Everyone should come with a passion and desire to show their talents,” Pearl River coach Christie Meeks said. “We are ready to meet some future Wildcats.”
To register, visit PRCCSoftballCamps.com. Pre-registration is discounted at $50, while walk-up participants will pay $60.
The baseball showcase takes place on July 7.
The event at Dub Herring Park is open to rising sophomores to unsigned seniors who have graduated (Class of 2020 to 2023).
The goal of the showcase is to give participants an opportunity to display their skills in front of college coaches. The clinic is structured like a pro-style workout, which will allow coaches to evaluate each camper in all areas of the game from speed and hitting to defense and pitching.
Registration is $100 and begins at 10 a.m.
