Bowling Green School celebrated Homecoming Night and Senior Night with a 50-0 victory over Amite School Center in a game held Friday at Southwest Mississippi Community College.
“We finally got a full week of practice with all of our players back in the midst of COVID and two hurricanes,” Bowling Green coach Riley Boudreaux said. “It was good to get back and get a full week of practice with everybody there.”
Javon Bickham had more than 200 all-purpose yards and a touchdown.
Kendrell Robinson scored two touchdowns and posted more than 100 yards.
Nathan Jenkins tallied more than 100 yards and two touchdowns.
Kengie Gordon scored a touchdown.
Jonathan Savarese threw for 307 yards and two touchdowns and he ran for one.
Bowling Green moves to 1-1 with the win. The Buccaneers are back in action on Friday against Columbia Academy on Friday at Southwest Mississippi Community College to open District 4A3 play.
“It’s going to be a tough game,” Boudreaux said. “District games are always tough. Columbia has a really good running back, a really good receiver and they play tough on defense.”
Columbia Academy is 0-3 this season. Columbia lost to Brookhaven Academy 43-26 last week.
After this week, Bowling Green plays a road game against Clinton Christian Academy on Sept. 18.
