Nationally, the month of October is celebrated as Residents’ Rights Month. The Louisiana Long Term Care Program was created to help celebrate residents and let them know that the community is thinking of them.

As a way to show the residents the community cares about them, a project was created to give back, called “Residents Rock.” The project consists of community members — in this case, the members of Franklinton High School’s National Honor Society — painting rocks to be given to the Good Samaritan Living Center.

These rocks displayed colorful, fun and inspiring messages to encourage the residents of the facility. All together, about 150 rocks were collected and created.

After collection by the National Honor Society students, these fun rocks were delivered Friday, Oct. 9, to the Good Samaritan Living Center.

This creative project will be on display throughout the facility, to remind the residents that their community cares for them.
