Franklinton suffered a 43-0 loss to 2019 Division III state runner up St. Charles Catholic in a road game that took place on Friday.
Zion Anders threw for 33 yards and ran for 42.
Corinthious Dickerson rushed for 27 yards. Defensively, Dickerson led the unit with 14 tackles with nine being solo stops and he recovered a fumble.
Caleb Brown caught three passes for 27 yards.
Kadarious Mark tallied two receptions for six yards and he ran for seven.
Khaled Waliagha tallied 11 tackles with three solos.
Deerail Kemp tallied eight stops.
Keyon Nelson had seven tackles.
Billy Gross and Tradell Causey recorded a sack each.
Josiah Miller recovered a fumble.
St. Charles Catholic, who is ranked sixth in the Louisiana Sports Writers Association Class 2A poll, led the Franklinton, 22-0 at halftime and 36-0 after three.
St. Charles is 4-1 this year.
Franklinton’s next game will take place on Friday against Lakeshore in the District 9-4A opener for both teams.
“This week starts a new season for us,” Franklinton coach Jonathan Barber said. “We have had a challenging year thus far, but our team has banded together. We now have a chance to compete for a district championship, which would be the first in five years. Our players have had a good week of practice and we will be ready to go for senior night on Friday.
Franklinton enters at 0-5, while Lakeshore is 1-4.
Lakeshore won last year’s contest, 55-7.
This season, Anders has thrown for 482 yards with a pair of touchdowns. He has also run for 114 yards.
De’Airreous Magee tops the team in rushing with 121 yards and a touchdown.
Cornelius Laurant is at 59 rushing yards and a touchdown.
Mark tops the receivers with 19 catches for 273 yards and two touchdowns.
Brown has 16 catches for 205 yards and a score.
Waliagha leads the team in tackles with 32.
Kemp is next at 25, followed by Dickerson, who has 23. Kemp also has a forced fumble, while Dickerson has a fumble recovery.
Causey has made two sacks to top the team.
Kendarius Brumfield and Gross have a sack each. Brumfield also has a fumble recovery, while Gross has a pass defensed.
Kollin Williams has an interception.
Miller begins with a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.
Micah Wascom has a pass defensed and a fumble recovery.
Trey’un Walker has a fumble recovery.
After this week, Franklinton has two regular season games left.
Next Friday, the Demons travel to face Salmen and they cap off the regular season with a home game against Pearl River on Nov. 19.
