On Feb. 9, 2021, the Angels of the Lord came and carried our beloved Mother home to be with our Heavenly Father.
Mrs. Elaine Conerly was born Dec. 10, 1929, to the late Mr. Marvin Toomer and Mrs. Effie Magee Toomer in Franklinton.
She was married to the late Shelby Conerly and to that union was born six children. Mrs. Elaine was a member of Bethel Church of Christ Holiness U.S.A. She worked many years at Franklinton Elementary School. She also was a housekeeper and caregiver. She was a loving and caring mother.
She leaves to cherish her memories: Betty (Alvin) Magee of Tucson, Ariz., Patricia Conerly of San Diego, Calif., Brenda (Irvin) Williams of Franklinton, Shelby (Beverly) Conerly of Franklinton, Frederick (Bambi) Conerly of Seattle, Wash., and Constance Conerly of Round Rock, Texas; 15 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; Keith H. Garret (a son in love); three sisters, Otheal Wilson, Lillian Davis of Franklinton, and Sarah Harvey of Los Angeles, Calif.; a sister-in-law, Melvadean Conerly; and a host of nieces nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Jerry (John) Taylor and Cora (Ross) Dykes; and a brother, Oliver (Ida) Toomer.
A drive-through viewing will be held on Monday, Feb. 22, from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m.
The funeral service will be Tuesday, Feb. 23, at 11 a.m. at Crain and Sons Funeral Home with Elder Alvin Partman, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Bethel Cemetery.
