Pope John Paul II’s Jaguars boys soccer team is headed to the state championship game.
The Jaguars have four players from Bogalusa, including Will Adams, George Arata, Landon Lott and Wilson Varnado.
Pope John Paul II reached the finals after defeating Northlake Christian School, 2-0, in Saturday night’s state semifinal game.
Top-seeded Pope John Paul II will face sixth-seeded Episcopal Wednesday, Feb. 24 at 7 p.m. The game will take place at Strawberry Stadium on the campus of Southeastern Louisiana University.
The Jaguars, who are 17-4-2, have not allowed a goal in their three postseason games.
Pope John Paul II had a bye in the first round. The Jaguars won their game in the regional round, 7-0, over 16th-seeded Westminster Christian. Pope John Paul II followed that up with a pair of 2-0 wins over eight-seeded Isidore Newman and fourth-seeded Northlake Christian School.
Episcopal is 15-6-4 and has allowed just two goals in the postseason.
Like Pope John Paul II, Episcopal had a bye in the bi-district round. Episcopal defeated 11th-seeded Vermillion Catholic, 1-0 before winning against third-seeded Episcopal of Acadiana, 2-1, and 4-1 over 10th-seeded Ascension Episcopal.
