Wayne Arnez James was born to Roosevelt James and the late Diann C. James. On Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at 10 a.m., he was called home to glory.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Diann C. James.
Wayne leaves to cherish his memories to a devoted, dedicated, longtime best friend and ex-wife, Barbara Conerly of Franklinton; his father, Roosevelt (Bell) James of Franklinton; three children, Sigourney Dykes (Lanelus Holmes Sr.), Kierra James, both of Baton Rouge, and Wayne Arnez James Jr. of Independence; one grandson, Lanelus Holmes III; two sisters, Theresa James of Franklinton, and Torie James of Ponchatoula; a best friend, Oliver Warren Jr. of Franklinton; a devoted favorite cousin, Melissa Miller of Griffin, Ga.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles, aunts, and friends.
Wayne was well-known for his laughter and smile. Everyone he came in contact with loved him dearly. He will be missed by all.
A drive-through viewing will be held on Friday, April 30, from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. at Crain and Sons Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be on Saturday, May 1, at 1 p.m. at Sweet Rest Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Norwert Hills, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Sweet Rest Cemetery.
