Our Heavenly Father knows our sadness. He knows our grief and to all our family and friends He will give relief. His blessed promise will never fail and He will guide us when the death our loved one claims. Jesus knows our sorrow. He knows our pain. He will be our Comforter; He will be with us all the way.
Sister Ruby H. Manning was born Dec. 28, 1936, in Holmesville, Miss., to the late Eddie Lee and Rosia Frances Harris. Sister Manning passed from this life on Friday, May 28, 2021, at Lakeview Regional Medical Center of Covington.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eddie Sr. and Rosia Harris; and four brothers, twins, Johnny and Jimmy, and Michael and Eddie.
She leaves to mourn: one daughter, Etta (Ike) Banks of Los Angeles, Calif.; five sons, Chester (Minako) Harris of Kent, Wash., Derrick (Terri) Harris of Indianhead, Md., Cletics Harris of Houston, Texas, Carlos (Annice) Harris of New Orleans, and Darryl (Sonya) Harris of Bogalusa; six sisters, Ruth Lewis, Lubertha Keller, Mary (Grover) Maxwell, Bonnie Harris, and Dora, all of Bogalusa, and Lucinda (Eldry) Guynes of LaPlace; brothers, Billy (Louise) Francis, Issac (Edna) Harris of Baton Rouge, Edgar (Pam) Harris of Tampa, Fla., Hillary, Richard and Bobby Harris of Bogalusa; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; and a special friend and caretaker, Ms. Laura Kemp.
Visitation will be held at Cook Richmond Funeral Home on Thursday, June 3, from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m.
The celebration of life will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 4, at Cook Richmond Funeral Home, located at 646 Columbia St. in Bogalusa. Dr. Raymond E. Mims, pastor, will officiate.
Interment will be at Bogalusa Cemetery.
