Margaret Ann Laurent Pittman was born on Jan. 13, 1938, in Bogalusa, to the late Walter Laurent and Mary Ella Laurent. She departed this life on Sunday, June 13, 2021, at Lakeview Hospital in Covington. She was a lifelong resident of Bogalusa.
Margaret, or affectionately called “Aunt Marg,” married her late husband Albert Pittman in 1956 and enjoyed 63 loving years of marriage before his death in 2019. From this union they had two daughters, Olga and Vivian.
She was known for giving unconditional love and was always good for a laugh. She leaves to cherish her memories: a brother, Leonard (Ella) Laurent of Bogalusa; a special nephew that she raised as her own, Renard Brown of Bogalusa; one niece, Angela Laurent of Bogalusa; two nephews, Andrew Laurent and Micheal Laurent, both of Bogalusa; five special cousins, Delores Magee, Precious Tillman and Verdine Cotton, all of Bogalusa, Louise Gussett of Los Angeles, Calif., and Vennie Raybon of Chicago, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Mary Ella Laurent; her husband, Albert “A.B.” Pittman; daughters, Olga and Vivian Pittman; sisters, Audrey Faye Laurent and Beatrice Laurent; and five nephews, Perry Wayne Laurent, Andre Laurent, Ricard Brown, Leonard Laurent Jr. and Roderick Brown.
A drive-through viewing was held on Friday, June 18, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Bogalusa.
Her services will be at noon on Saturday, June 19, at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, with Rev. Stanley Nathaniel, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Bogalusa Cemetery.
