Mr. Charles Helton, a resident of Bogalusa, passed away Aug. 19, 2021, at the age of 64. Mr. Helton retired from the Bogalusa Police Department after 30 years of service.
Mr. Helton is survived by two sons, Charles (Denise) Blackwell and Cole Helton, both of Bogalusa; a sister, Tammy (Charlie) Fornea of Varnado; two brothers, Allen (Sissy) Helton of Bogalusa, and Chad (Rochele) Helton of Nashville, Tenn.; his grandchildren, Kelli (Dustin) Magee, Hunter Blackwell, Landon Burge, Levi Burge and Lexie Burge; and his great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Braylon, Hayden and Dilyn Magee. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Helton was preceded in death by his wife, Pamela Helton; his parents, Nelson J. and Opal Sue Helton; and his siblings, Tommy Helton and Vicky Pounds.
A visitation will be held Friday, Aug. 27, from 9 a.m. until time for the services at 2 p.m. at Palestine Baptist Church, with the Rev. Frederick Brumfield and the Rev. Kelly Penton officiating the services. Interment will follow at Pounds Cemetery.
