On Aug. 26, 2021, Mr. Lampton “L.C.” Terrell, 98, passed away at Oschner Hospital in Kenner. Mr. Terrell retired from Bogalusa Police Department as an assistant chief of police and also served as a chief of police for Sun Police Department. “LC” was a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army, and a veteran of World War II, where he served his country and was part of D-Day in Normandy, France. One of his proudest accomplishments in World War II was storming the Utah Beach in Normandy.
He is survived by his two daughters, Joycelyn Terrell and Janice Foley; one grandson, Colin Byrd and his wife Tracey; one brother, Ubert Terrell; a son-in-law, Charles Locke; a host of nieces and nephews; and numerous other family and friends.
“L.C.” was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen Bankston Terrell; two daughters, Katherine Terrell Locke and Gaynell Terrell; his parents, Martin and Ollie Terrell; two brothers, Dalcus Terrell and Johnny Terrell; and two sisters, Lola Mallett and Ester Lee Jenkins.
Brown-McGehee Funeral Home is proudly serving the family of Mr. Lampton “L.C.” Terrell. Visitation will be Tuesday, Aug. 31, from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at 2 p.m. Mr. Tony Gambino will be officiating the services in the funeral home chapel. Interment with military honors will immediately follow at Hillview Memorial Gardens in Bogalusa.
