YouthBuild gets $1M grant

YouthBuild Bogalusa, an educational program of Northshore Technical Community College, was recently awarded $1,044,681 by the Employment Training Administration of the U.S. Department of Labor to continue this vital program to the community that serves young adults.
“YouthBuild Bogalusa is a vital safety net for those young people who do not complete high school. It is through the success of this grant award, that we are able to remain a pillar in our community for young people,” said Danielle Keys, director. “The United States Department of Labor funding process is very competitive, and our award is clearly correlated to the successful outcomes of our nationally recognized program. I would like to commend my YouthBuild staff for all their support and overall commitment to YouthBuild Bogalusa.”
YouthBuild Bogalusa is an educational program for youth ages 16-24 that have not completed high school. The mission of YouthBuild Bogalusa is to provide a supportive environment that empowers youth to achieve their academic, personal, and workplace readiness goals, while building a sense of community through public service and residential construction for low-income families.
