Robert “Bob” McKinney Rogan Jr., a resident of Bogalusa, passed away on Sept. 6, 2021, at the age of 78 after a struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. He was a native of Middleboro, Ky.
Mr. Rogan was a graduate of Georgia Tech University with a degree in chemical engineering. He moved to Bogalusa in 1967, where he accepted a position at Crown Zellerbach. He retired after 38 years, in 2005, from Temple Inland, where he served as the general plant manager.
He was an active member of Annunciation Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, United Way and WEDF. He served on the board at Our Lady of the Angels Hospital, Northshore Charter School, and Northshore Technical Community College. He was also in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Rogan is survived by his wife of 46 years, Suzanne Hosey Rogan of Bogalusa; his children, Angela (Chad) Courtney of Hammond, Lynn Rogan Miller of Denham Springs, John (Monika) Rogan of Montz, Jarod (Traci) Rogan of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Laura (Ben) Augustine of Bogalusa, and James (Emily) Rogan of Bogalusa; his grandchildren, Seth Courtney, Andrew Courtney, Callison Miller, Nicholas Miller, Logan Dicharry, Ross Rogan, Brooke Rogan, Caroline Rogan, Catherine Rogan, Kate Pounds, Rogan Augustine, Elliot Augustine and Ruston Rogan; and also his siblings, Patricia Meier, Byers Rogan, Margaret Rogan and Elizabeth Wheless.
Mr. Rogan was preceded in death by his father, Robert Rogan Sr.; and his mother, Elizabeth Butler Rogan.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, Sept. 15, from 9 a.m. until time for the services at 11 a.m. at Annunciation Catholic Church, with the Rev. Father Daniel Brouillette officiating. Interment will follow at McGehee Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Annunciation Catholic Church or Annunciation Catholic School.
