For the third time this season, No. 4 Pearl River’s standout goalkeeper Maddux Francis (Poplarville) has been named the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference Goalkeeper of the Week.
Francis claimed the award after making four saves and allowing zero goals in the Wildcats 2-0 victory at Itawamba.
Francis claimed back-to-back awards to open the season. He captured the first after making seven saves in a 0-0 draw at LSU Eunice
He tacked on the second award after tallying five saves, two wins and zero goals allowed in games against Jones College and East Central.
The William Carey transfer has been a force between the posts for Pearl River this season, allowing just two goals while making 30 saves. On the season, Francis has six clean sheets.
His .938 save percentage and his 0.25 goals-against average both rank second in the nation.
