Mr. David S. Jenkins, a resident of Bogalusa, passed away Friday, Oct. 29, 2021, at the age of 78. Mr. David served his country in the U.S. Navy. He loved to fish, travel, do woodwork, and watch football and NASCAR. He also loved spending time with his family.

Mr. David is survived by his wife, Freeda Ruth Mitchell Jenkins; one son, James Jenkins; and two daughters, Michelle (Darrin) Fonda and Amy (Eric) Jenkins. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jordan (Cindy) Cotton, Matthew (Katelyn) Cotton, Mallory Jenkins, Maggie Jenkins, Callison McKeegan, Bailey McKeegan and Kaitlyn McKeegan; and also his great-grandchildren, Liam, Luke and Hollyn Cotton.

Mr. David was preceded in death by his parents, James Wilson and Mary Jenkins; and his siblings, Melvin Jenkins, Ray Jenkins, Dorothy Rester and Pauline Carpenter.

Visitation was held Tuesday, Nov. 2, from 11 a.m. until time for the services at 2 p.m., in the Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Larry Mizell officiating the services. Interment followed at Pounds Cemetery, with military graveside rites being conducted by Magic City American Legion Post #24.
