UTA’s Briana Brown, Texas State’s Tyeranee Scott and Georgia Southern’s Madison Brown all led their respective teams to undefeated weekends and have earned recognition as Sun Belt Volleyball Players of the Week.

Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week
Briana Brown, UTA
(Fr., Whitehouse, Texas)

Mavericks’ freshman outside hitter Briana Brown totaled 40 kills (5.0 kills per set) and hit .318 in leading her team to wins against Arkansas State and Little Rock. She was nearly flawless against the Red Wolves, leading the Mavs with 12 kills with just one error on 26 swings (.423 attack pct.). Brown ended the weekend with a career performance against Little Rock, totaling 28 kills and besting her previous high of 26 kills. She finished the weekend with 42.5 total points (5.31 points per set). Brown has had double-digit kills in each of her last four matches.

Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week
Tyeranee Scott, Texas State
(Sr., Houston, Texas)

Bobcats’ senior middle blocker Tyeranee Scott concluded her final home weekend in dominating fashion, totaling 14 blocks (2.0 blocks per set). Scott posted her first career double-double with 10 kills and 10 blocks (two solo and eight block assists) against Little Rock. In the win against Arkansas State on Senior Day Sunday, Scott finished the match with 11 kills on .400 hitting with two block solos and two block assists. Her eight block assists and 10 total blocks against the Trojans matched her career highs in those categories.

Volleyball Setter of the Week
Madison Brown, Georgia Southern
(Sr., Lake City, Ill.)

Eagles’ senior setter Madison Brown averaged 9.78 assists per set, 2.0 digs per set and an ace per set in a 2-0 week for Georgia Southern. Brown totaled 46 assists, 11 digs and three aces in a comeback win at Costal Carolina. The victory broke the Eagles’ 13-game losing skid against the Chanticleers that spanned back to 2009. It also ended a 10-match home winning streak for Coastal. She backed up that performance with 42 assists, seven digs and a career-high six service aces in a win at App State.
