Jerry Everette Spillman Jr., a lifelong resident of Bogalusa, passed away at the age of 80 on Friday, Jan. 14, 2022, in Farmington, Ark., and in the presence of his loving family.
He was born Nov. 21, 1941, in Bogalusa, to Jerry Everette Spillman Sr. and Leila Rose Savoy.
Jerry was a devoted husband and father; a Navy veteran; an amazing welder, master wood craftsman, and musician; a graduate of Bogalusa High School; and a member of Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church in Bogalusa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife of 61 years, Joyce Irene Spillman; a brother, Earl Spillman; and a sister, Delorice Spillman Mizell.
He is survived by a brother, Hylton Spillman and wife Linda of Varnado; a sister-in-law, Cynthia Spillman of Sumrall, Miss.; a daughter, Michelle Hover and husband Dr. Tom Hover of Farmington; a son, Jerry David Spillman and wife Sherri Spillman of Bogalusa; three granddaughters, Kelly Combs and husband Jason Combs, Mindy Foster and husband Kyle Foster, and Shannon Barrett and husband Tyler Barrett, all of Farmington; two grandsons, Aaron Spillman and wife Shyanne Spillman and Cole Spillman of Bogalusa; and 11 great-grandchildren, Abianne Combs, Laney Combs, Evie Combs, Micah Foster, Kenzie Foster, Ellie Foster, Bright Foster, Maverick Barrett, Colt Barrett, Bentley Barrett, and Jett Barrett, all of Farmington.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 19, at Hillview Memorial Gardens in Bogalusa, with Dr. Tom Hover officiating.
