Kristina Marie Moak Stone, 40, of Bogalusa, passed away Monday morning, Jan. 17, 2022. She was born April 23, 1981, and attended Annunciation Catholic School and Bowling Green High School, where she was a member of the Buccanettes Dance team. She also enjoyed playing softball with the Franklinton Association. Kristy later received her Licensed Practical Nursing degree from Northshore Technical College. She worked at Forest Manor Nursing Home in Covington and also served in the home health field for a time. Kristy liked completing “Do-It-Yourself” projects and making crafts. She enjoyed dancing and listening to her favorite music. Kristy loved visiting with her family and cherished all their times spent together.
She is survived by: her daughter, Emily Caroline Smith of Bogalusa; son, Justin Matthew Gonzales of Bogalusa; mother, Tina Mizell Gerard of Bogalusa; step-father, Joseph Yargo III of Ponchatoula; brothers and a sister-in-law, Jonathan Colby Moak and Rachel Moak of Loranger, and Lucas Yargo of Ponchatoula; sisters, Courtney Nicole Yargo of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Brittany White of Ponchatoula; grandparents, Huey and Gloria Mizell; niece, Ryleigh Madison Moak; aunt, Cathy Ritchie, whom she was very close with; lifelong friends, Misty Crawford, Jennifer Pigott and Frances Jones; and also numerous other aunts, uncles, cousins and many dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Nicky Lee Moak; and paternal grandparents, Prentiss and Elvie Moak.
A graveside funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 23, in the Mizell Cemetery (intersection of Louisiana Highway 16/Louisiana Highway 1073) near Enon, with Rev. Jimmy Byrd officiating.
Pallbearers were Colby Moak, Joe Yargo, Jason Smith, Baily Miller, Darrell Dauzat and Jeremy Pigott.
