Joel Steven Edwards, born April 20, 1975, went home to be with the Lord on Jan. 16, 2015, at Our Lady of Angels Hospital at the age of 39.

Joel enjoyed hunting and fishing and being in the outdoors. He attended Calvary Christian Church in Bogalusa.

He is survived by his parents, Troy and Barbara Edwards of Bogalusa; a daughter, Alexis Edwards of Bogalusa; two brothers, Buckey Edwards and Rayford Wayne Rhoden, both of Bogalusa; a niece, Emma Elizabeth Edwards; a nephew, Mason Ryan Edwards; and other family members and friends.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Bura Crosby and Mamie Crosby and Hazel Smith; and a brother, Ronald Rhoden.

Visitation was held at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home on Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2015, from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. and resumed Thursday after 8 a.m. until service time at 10 a.m. The Rev. Larry Lassley conducted the services and the interment that followed at Pounds Cemetery.
