Kristian Jackson set a season high mark in the weight throw and shot put for the Southeastern Louisiana University track and field team Friday at the LSU Twilight at Carl Maddox Field House hosted by LSU.
Jackson, a senior, threw 48-10.25 (14.89m) Friday, maintaining her number two ranking in the shot put entering the Southland Conference Indoor Championships next weekend.
The Zachary, Louisiana native also had a season’s best mark in the weight throw of 58-10.75 (17.95m). The mark ranks Jackson third in the event going into next weekend.
“I think it was a very positive day for us,” said SLU track and field head coach Corey Mistretta. “I think everyone that competed today should feel really good about themselves going into the conference championships next week.”
Southeastern will have nine days to prepare for the Southland Indoor Championships which begin Sunday, Feb. 27 in Birmingham, Alabama at the Birmingham Crossplex.
Fans can follow the conference championships as live video and results will be available at the Southeastern track and field schedule page located at LionSports.Net.
