Mt. Hermon School tops Maurepas, defeated twice by the champs

Mt. Hermon School’s Lady Jackets defeated Maurepas, 8-6, in nine innings in a District 8-B road game that was held on Tuesday.
Mt. Hermon trailed 3-1 after six and put up five runs in the seventh to go up, 6-3. Maurepas came back with three of their own in the bottom of the seventh to tie the game and force extra innings. After a scoreless eighth, Mt. Hermon posted two runs in the ninth and held Maurepas scoreless for the win.
Alexis Magee doubled twice, drove in a run and scored a run.
Bailey Fortenberry doubled with an RBI and two runs scored.
Layla Riley doubled, drove in two runs and scored a run.
Jadyn Stafford singled and scored a run.
Emily Bulloch scored two runs, while Kamryn Huval scored a run and Kenzie Tetreau drove in a run.
On Thursday, Mt. Hermon was defeated by four-time defending state champion Holden in a doubleheader, 15-0 and 19-0 by Holden at home in league play.
The 15-0 game was in three innings.

The 19-0 contest was in four innings.

Mt. Hermon’s next game will be on April 5 against Bogalusa in a road game.
