Bethlehem Baptist Church

• Pastor Christopher Matthews and the Bethlehem Baptist Church invite the community youth to its sixth annual “Ready-Set Back 2 School Summer Fest.” The event is given to assist the youth, pre-K through 12th grade, with free school supplies for the coming 2022-23 school session. The fun activity is scheduled for Wednesday, July 27, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. in the Church Family Life Center. All pre-registered youth will have backpacks tagged to avoid a line to receive their supplies. Youth are asked to pre-register to ensure safety and adequate supplies, or they may choose to register on-site. There will be empowering speakers, music with DJ AP from Leesville, and a variety of brochures. The youth will be able to cool with Cool Stop snow cones, water slide fun with permission-signed waivers and sprinklers. The youth will have an opportunity to have pictures made at the photo corner. An evening meal of chili dogs, chips, and drinks will be served to all. Each youth member will have an opportunity to receive gift cards and certificates throughout the activities.
• Bethlehem Baptist Church and Elder Christopher Matthews has scheduled its 115th church anniversary observation on Sunday, July 31, during the 11 a.m. worship services. The theme for the event is, “A Solid Church on a Solid Rock,” and the scripture is Matthew 16:18. The guest minister will be the Rev. Dr. Keith Cowart, pastor of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Bogalusa. The church is recognized as being a landmark and the oldest African-American church in our city, after its founding on June 12, 1907. The church was originally located in the old Mill Quarters on Avenue T on land donated by the Great Southern Lumber Company. On Dec. 16, 2012, the church, located on its current site at 837 E. Seventh St., was destroyed by fire. The faith of the Bethlehem family remained strong and, in the tradition, the church was re-dedicated on Sunday, Nov. 1, 2015. Pastor Matthews invites everyone to attend this historical service.

Sweet Beulah Baptist Church

The Sweet Beulah Baptist Church youth ministry will hold its fifth Sunday Youth Church Service on Sunday, July 31, at 11:15 a.m. The special invited guests will be the Washington Parish NAACP Youth Council. The guest speaker will be Tyrin Truong.

Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church

Children’s Sunday School and Pastor Joe Arthur’s Adult Bible class each begin at 9:15 a.m. Sunday service starts at 10:30 a.m. with Divine Worship celebrating Holy Communion every Sunday. Bogalusa Seventh-day Adventist Church

The Bogalusa Seventh-day Adventist Church, located at 19617 Highway 21 North in Bogalusa, welcomes everyone to come worship with us every Saturday. Our Sabbath school begins at 9:40 a.m. and worship service begins at 11 a.m. We have a fellowship meal following our worship service and everyone is invited to stay. The Church of God of Prophecy

Annunciation Catholic Church

Annunciation Catholic Church will be praying the Rosary every Monday afternoon at 3 p.m. in the church. Prior to the recitation of the Rosary, the group will also pray the beautiful Divine Mercy Chaplet.
