The Washington Parish Library welcomed a new Board Member on Thursday, July 21.
Ms. Penny Moses was sworn in by Judge David Merlin Duke at the Bogalusa Branch that evening, taking the position held by Mrs. Luella Jackson, a deeply respected and long-time member of the Library Board. The Library Board also honored Jackson at the meeting.
Members of the Board and public were given an opportunity to talk about Jackson, her contribution to the community, and how much she meant to us all. Jackson is missed deeply by the Angie community, library staff, and the Library Board. Moses shared her memories of Jackson and explained how much honored she was to be following in Jackson’s footsteps on the Board.
