Sis. Faylene Foster, 64, a resident of Varnado, peacefully departed her earthly home on Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2022, at Our Lady of the Angels Hospital in Bogalusa.
Sis. Faylene Foster accepted Christ at a very young age at New Zion Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. A.L. Owens and remained a faithful servant under the leadership of Rev. Linza R. Cotton, where she served on the mission society. Faylene was a devoted member and wanted to help in any way.
Faylene was a homemaker, always caring and attending to others’ needs.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories: two children, Terranto L. Foster (Minister J. René) of Bogalusa, and Jammeka F. Temple (Dewight Sr.) of Hattiesburg, Miss.; eight grandchildren, Jovon (Ashley), MarChé, La’Zhay, Cheyenne (Reggie), JaMia, Dewight Jr., Payton and Jeremiah; seven great-grandchildren; a special and devoted niece, Debra D. Mingo, who she loved dearly; one godson, La’Darrius Sheridan; a close and very special friend, Leslie Morris; five sisters, Ruby L. Mingo, Vennette T. Sheridan, Carolyn Walker (Janola), Sharay Green and Nichole P. Curney (Broderick); three brothers, Bobby L. Foster, Mr. Larry Mark and Tyrone Pigott; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by one son, Baby Foster; her father and mother, James and Grace Foster; three brothers, James E. Foster, Willie L. Foster and Ray A. Pigott; five sisters, Debra Foster, Joan M. Foster, Ozzelean Foster, Paulette Foster and Jamie L. Peters; and one special niece, Cathy L. Foster-Amos.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 8, at 11 a.m. at the New Zion Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dr. Linza Cotton officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, Oct. 7, at the Cook-Richmond Funeral Home Chapel from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m., with a family hour beginning at 5 p.m. Interment will be in the Moses Cemetery.
