Mr. Irvin Nelson Pigott, Sr. a resident of Angie, La. passed away on Nov. 15, 2022 at St. Tammany Parish Hospital, from complications of heart and kidney disease. Irvin was a dedicated member of the Wesley Ray UMC where he served on the Trustee board and in the United Methodist Men club. Irvin was a proud member of the VHS class of 1977 where he played the bass drums, under the direction of Mr. Robert Johnson. In 1982, he relocated with his wife and children to Ocean Springs, Miss. working as a manager for Hardees and at Ingalls Shipbuilding. In 2009, Irvin and his family returned home to Angie, La. He worked for the Varnado Water Works until his health began to fail. Irvin will be remembered by many for his easygoing spirit.
Irvin leaves behind to cherish his memories; his wife of 45 years, Gwendolyn Pigott. Three loving children: Irvin Nelson Pigott, Jr. and wife Saori, Crystal (Pigott) Towner and Kandice (Pigott) Holland and fiance Ronnie. Four precious grandchildren: Takya Millender, Diedra Lundy, Caden Holland and Chloe Holland. Four sisters; Doris (Charles, Sr.) Jackson, Underthia Moses, Debra Peters, Tracy Robinson and three brothers; Willie (Stella) Pigott, Bernard Pigott, Kenneth Sr. (Ella) Pigott. He leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whom he very dearly loved.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Earnest “Boog” and Inez Pigott. Sisters, Minnie Stacks, Vander L. Brumfield, Louaner Spikes and brothers John E. Pigott, and Willie R. Pigott.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, Nov. 26, 2022 beginning at 11 a.m. followed by the funeral service at noon at Wesley Ray UMC in Angie, La., with Rev. Terrance August, Pastor Officiating. Interment will be in the Jefferson Cemetery. Crain and Sons Funeral Home of Bogalusa, LA in charge of arrangements.
