The candidate featured here is Casey Allen who is running for Judge, Division B, 22nd Judicial District Court.

Why did you decide to run?
My decision to run for Division B judge was based on a desire to protect the way of life that makes St. Tammany and Washington Parish so great. My husband and I chose to raise our three kids here because of the family values and safety of the community. It is so important that we have the right people on the bench to apply the rule of law so these values are upheld. You can look to numerous cities and communities around the country where crime is out of control because prosecutors and judges will not stand up in support of the law.

What is your occupation/current employer?
I am a career prosecutor. My most recent position was as an Assistant District Attorney in St. Charles Parish. Prior to that, I worked as an ADA for Warren Montgomery here in the 22nd JDC. 

What makes you the right choice?
This race is not just about generalized “experience”. It’s about the RIGHT experience. My career as a prosecutor has been spent working with law enforcement and victims to keep violent offenders off the street. I have experience as the lead prosecutor in cases of domestic violence, child sexual abuse, murder, drug dealers, identity theft, and gang violence. I have experience selecting juries, and presenting cases in court for both judge and jury deliberation. I’m the only candidate in this race who can say that. Most cases that go to trial are criminal cases, so it comes down to having the right legal knowledge and first-hand experience to make sure we keep our community safe. My opponent is a very nice lady, but she has been working as a criminal defense attorney at Spell & Spell Law Firm, arguing for lower bonds and more lenient sentences. That is not the experience that we need at this moment in our community.

What do you want to accomplish if elected?
When I am elected, I will apply the rule of law in a firm and fair manner to keep violent offenders, sexual predators, and fentanyl dealers off our streets to keep St. Tammany and Washington parish safe. I also want to work to find a solution to the problems we face. I want to work with local churches, community leaders, and civic groups to reach young people before they find themselves in a life of crime. In fact, I have already started this work during my campaign, meeting with community and faith leaders in order to build my list of resources in the community for people in need. I will be fair and just with people that stand before me and deserve a second chance, and find a program where they can become successful members of society.
