Mabel Alberta George, age 98, passed away May 5, 2015, at Our Lady of Angels Hospital in Bogalusa. She was a resident of Bogalusa. She is survived by two daughters, Marie Helton of Bogalusa and Delores Smith of Hernando, Miss.; two brothers, Vernon and George Thomas of Bogalusa; grandchildren, Shanna Paine of Baton Rouge and John W. Helton of Covington; and great-grandchildren, Woody Helton and Harley Helton of Covington.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman George; parents Ephriam and Meacy Thomas; grandson, Julian Alan Smith Jr.; four brothers; and one sister.

Visitation will be in the chapel of Brown-McGehee Funeral Home on Friday, May 8, 2015, from 11 a.m. until time for service in the chapel at noon. Burial will be in Emmanuel Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Scott Breland will officiate.
