Malcolm Gaines Sr.

Mr. Malcolm Gaines Sr. of Tampa, Fla., passed away on Monday, April 13, 2015.

Mr. Gaines was a native of New Orleans and a resident of Tampa for many years. He graduated Wilkinson County High School and worked at Verizon and then as an entrepreneur.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Ginger Gaines; three sons, Malcolm Jr., Paul and David all in Tampa, Florida; and one daughter, Shadreanna of Tampa. He was also blessed to have three grandchildren who already miss him dearly, Aaliyah, Vashon and Armani. He also leaves other family including, mother/stepfather, Hester and Terry Clark; grandparents, Tommy and Ollie Budges; father, James Gaines Sr.; brothers, James Jr. and Terry Jr.; sisters, Chelethia (Cookie) and Terrin (TK); sisters-in-law, Erika and Chermayne; brother-in-law, Stevie; immediate aunts, Augusta (Gussie), Sylvia (Sister) and Sandra; immediate uncles, Jerry, Gilbert, Larry and John (JT); nieces, Jordan, Akalya, Tiona, Cameron, Destiny; nephews, Xavier, Elijah, Jeremiah, Daniel, and Jaden; and many other aunts, uncles, cousins and devoted friends. He also leaves behind his close friend, Lorenzo, who is considered a brother.

Malcolm was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Nebuchadnezzar Sheridan and Olivia Sheridan-Nichols; and paternal grandparents, Moses and Ollie Mae Gaines.

Viewing services will be conducted on Wednesday, April 22, 2015, at Ray Williams Memorial Chapel in Tampa, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. His funeral will be held in Bogalusa, on April 25, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Crain and Sons Chapel in Bogalusa interment – Robinson cemetery.
