Mrs. Ruth Reynolds Sinclair passed away peacefully on Nov. 11, 2024. She was 89.
A private memorial service will be held by the family when all can attend. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to one of her favorite charities, E.S.M. First United Methodist Church of Bogalusa, Louisiana or the Alzheimer’s Association.
Mrs. Sinclair was born Feb. 17, 1935 in Goodwater, Ala., the daughter of the late Cecil H. and Edna Forester Reynolds. She grew up in Coosa County, Ala. and attended Auburn University where she received a degree in nutritional/dietary sciences. After an internship in Charlotte, N.C., she served as assistant director of the dairy council of Greater Birmingham. While at Auburn, she met and later married William Ralph Sinclair who was in Veterinary School. The loving couple moved to Bogalusa, La. in 1958 where they established and worked side by side at Bogalusa Animal Clinic for 34 years.
They lovingly raised three sons in a Christian home and were actively involved in their boys’ Cub Scout and Boy Scouting organizations. After retirement, they lived in Dothan, Ala. until the death of William Ralph Sinclair in 2004. Mrs. Sinclair later moved to Sylacauga, Ala.
Mrs. Sinclair was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Edna Forester Reynolds; her brother, Charles H. Reynolds; her sister, Kay Reynolds Beaty, and her loving and devoted husband, Dr. William Ralph Sinclair Sr.
Ruth is survived by her three sons, William Ralph Sinclair, Jr. DDS (Donna) of St. Francisville, La., Brian Reynolds Sinclair M.D. (Carol) of Crane Hill, Ala., James Harlen Sinclair (Jennifer) of Ouray, Colo.; a brother, Larry Reynolds of Sylacauga, Ala., and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
