Elma Rester

Elma Lee Turnage Rester, born Jan. 29, 1923, went home to be with the Lord on April 6, 2015, at the age of 93. She was a native of Kokomo, Miss., and a longtime resident of Bogalusa. She attended Turnage Chapel Baptist Church in Foxworth, Miss.

She is survived by three sons, Danny (Linda) Rester of Varnado, Darryle (Vonnie) Rester of Bogalusa and Paul (Sandra) Rester of Baton Rouge; a daughter, Brenda (Danny) Morris of Bogalusa; three grandchildren, Kayla Rester, Blake Rester and Sara Rester; one great-grandchild, Sebastian Sanders; and numerous other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by parents, Ford and Mae Turnage Davis; a brother, William “Bud” Smith; and two sisters, Hazel “Millie” Rester and Edna Davis.

Visitation will be at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 8, 2015, starting at 10 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. The Rev. Keith Sheridan and the Rev. Adrian Baham will officiate the services. The interment will follow in the Poplarhead Cemetery.
