Gertie Lambert Adams, age 88, born on April 18, 1927, in Monticello, Miss., a resident of Bogalusa, passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2015, at St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington.
She was a long-time faithful member of New Life Pentecostal Church in Bogalusa.
She is survived by one son, Jason W. (Joann) Adams of Bogalusa; six daughters, Barbara (Charles) Creel of Franklinton, Patricia Sanderson of Varnado, Sandra Pace of Varnado, Kathy Buras (Jimmy) of Picayune, Jewel Slade of Poplarville and Debbie (Harold) Magee of Isabel; 21 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jason W. Adams Sr.; her parents, John and Rhoda Lambert; two grandsons, Darryl D. Sanderson and Jeremy K. Forrest; one great-grandson, Mark Whal Jr.; two sons-in-law, Howard E. Sanderson and Virgil L. Pace; four sisters, Vyanna Seal, Willie Bell Dunaway, Vera Mae Bullock, and Minnie Lee Beeson; three brothers, Joseph Roy Lambert, Jewel Lenord Lambert and Troy Lambert; and two adopted children, Verdie Lee Beeson and Maxine Beeson Fritz.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2015, at New Life United Pentecostal Church, 1600 Jefferson St., Bogalusa from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Visitation will continue on Sunday, June 7, 2015, at New Life United Pentecostal Church from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The funeral service will be at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Wesley Quave and the Rev. Charles R. Creel officiating. Interment will follow at Ponemah Cemetery.
