The Bowling Green Buccaneers powered through rain and adversity to defeat the Amite School Center Rebels 36-13, marking their third straight district win and moving to 5-3 overall. With an undefeated district record, BG is heading confidently into the district championship against Centerville next week.

The game began with defensive grit from both teams. ASC opened with a punt, but the Buccaneers’ first drive stalled due to a holding penalty that nullified a Preston Jarrell touchdown.

The Rebels intercepted a pass shortly after and turned it into a 7-0 lead. BG struck back as Bubby Bryant’s touchdown made it 6-7. ASC scored again but missed the PAT, and BG responded with Cam Seal’s touchdown. A two-point conversion by Bryant shifted the lead to BG, 14-13.

In the second quarter, a blocked Rebel punt set up Maddox Magee’s touchdown, extending BG’s lead. A fumbled PAT turned into a quick-thinking two-point conversion by Rayden Rayborn, giving BG a 22-13 advantage at halftime.

With determination, the Buccaneers continued to dominate in the second half. On 4th-and-6, Rayborn’s clutch 39-yard catch set up Magee’s second touchdown. Brock’s PAT boosted the lead to 29-13. ASC was held scoreless as BG’s defense forced turnovers, including a critical interception by Jarrell. Seal and Jessie Gaines secured a final touchdown for a 36-13 finish.

BG’s 346 rushing yards, led by Bryant, and a staunch defensive effort from JP Brumfield, Brody Estaves, Trey Champagne, and Jarrell, paved the way to victory. Now, with a firm grasp on the district, the Buccaneers head to Centerville with championship ambitions.
