A man wanted in connection with a Bogalusa shooting that endangered five people — including a possible infant — is now in custody following a multi-agency effort involving the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office.

The Bogalusa Police Department requested assistance from LPSO on March 21 in locating Ivan Fletcher, a suspect believed to be tied to a group known as the “Motion Gang.” Investigators say Fletcher opened fire on a vehicle occupied by five individuals during an altercation involving his girlfriend, Maya Price. Among the occupants was possibly a 5-month-old child, authorities said.

Bogalusa Police obtained warrants for Fletcher and Price following the incident:

  • Fletcher, 19, faces five counts of attempted first-degree murder.

  • Price, 23, was charged with five counts of principal to attempted first-degree murder.

According to Livingston Parish Sheriff Jason Ard, narcotics agents had already been investigating the Motion Gang, a hybrid group active in the Springfield, Hammond, and Ponchatoula areas. The gang reportedly includes both adults and juveniles and is involved in illegal narcotics distribution and street violence.

Agents identified Pardue Road in Springfield as a frequent hangout and distribution site for the gang. Several key members, including Fletcher and Terry Finnely, were known to gather there.

On March 24, LPSO agents spotted Fletcher in a vehicle near Pardue Road and attempted to follow him. Fletcher crossed parish lines into Tangipahoa Parish, prompting assistance from the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office. The vehicle was stopped on I-12 near the Hammond exit, and both Fletcher and Price were taken into custody without incident.

A search of Fletcher’s vehicle and other locations yielded a significant cache of drugs and firearms:

  • Approximately 180 grams of marijuana

  • Four dosage units of Oxycodone

  • Two pressed fentanyl pills

  • 30 fluid ounces of promethazine

  • Two THC vape cartridges

  • Three handguns

  • Two .22 caliber rifles

  • One stolen 7.62 caliber AR-style pistol

  • $4,561 in cash, pending seizure

In addition to Fletcher and Price, the following individuals were arrested:

  • Terry Finnely, 20

  • Dennis Mitchell, 19

  • Alyssa Theodore, 18 (issued a summons for marijuana possession)

  • Two juveniles (names withheld)

Sheriff Ard emphasized that the investigation is ongoing and additional arrests are expected.

“This is not the type of activity we want to see here,” Ard said. “We’re investing our time and attention into making sure gang members are not comfortable here. Gang-type activity will not be tolerated. We’re watching. We’re sharing information with our partner agencies. Citizens, see something? Say something. Let’s work together to protect our community.”
