On March 29th local pool team, the Rail Runners playing out of the Picayune, MS American Legion Post 73, traveled to D’Iberville, MS to participate in the Tri-Cup held at the billiards club, Bumpers. There were eight teams competing in the Tri-Cup event. Three of the teams were from Picayune, Show Us UR Rack, Bank On It and The Rail Runners, along with five other teams from the Gulf Coast League.

The team of Bank On It had a chance to advance, but in sudden death lost out on a scratch on the eight ball. In the finals the team of Show Us UR Rack and The Rail Runners faced up head to head. The Rail Runners proved to be too powerful and out scored the Show Us UR Rack team by a score of seven to three. Show Us UR Rack could not catch up in the last match so that match was forfeited and The Rail Runners claimed the victory and the honor of advancing to participate in the regionals which will also be held at Bumpers in D’Iberville at a later date.

The Rail Runners team consist of Lee Crosby, Jodi Byrd, Mike “Dick” Smith, JR McNabb and Captain, Josh Crosby. Congratulations to The Rail Runners on their win.
