Franklinton High School’s powerlifting program continues to make headlines as two of its standout athletes, Bella Duplantis and Luke Roshto, delivered remarkable performances at the recent Junior Nationals held at the University of New Orleans.

Bella Duplantis made history by earning the title of National Champion in the  47kg weight class. In a stunning display of strength and composure, Bella broke the national squat record on her very first attempt, then went on to set a new national deadlift record with her opening lift.

Luke Roshto also represented Franklinton with grit and determination in the 90kg weight class. He achieved an impressive milestone by breaking the national squat record, showcasing his strength and potential on this competitive stage. Although he faced challenges during the deadlift portion and was unable to complete a successful attempt, his record-setting performance remains a proud moment for the school and community.

Franklinton High is incredibly proud of Bella and Luke for their dedication, hard work, and resilience throughout the season. Competing at the national level is a testament to their commitment and the strength of the Franklinton High School powerlifting program.
