The National Federation of Independent Business has named Charles Weintritt of Bogalusa as the recipient of the 2025 NFIB Small Business Champion Award.

Weintritt, president of Davis Products Inc., received the honor Thursday during the Louisiana Economic Development’s Small Business Awards ceremony at the Hilton Baton Rouge Capitol Center. NFIB State Director Leah Long presented the award in recognition of Weintritt’s longtime commitment to small business advocacy and economic resilience.

“Davis Products joined NFIB in 1972,” Long said. “Fifty-three years of continuous membership is a rare and impressive achievement, especially given the economic ups and downs, shifting market trends, and changing business landscape of the past half-century.”

Founded in 1959 by Weintritt’s father, Davis Products began as a lawn mower repair shop. In its early days, Dick Weintritt made weekly trips to New Orleans—more than 140 miles round trip—to pick up pre-sold brooms and mops for local customers. Over the decades, the business evolved into one of the largest suppliers of facility maintenance and janitorial products on the Northshore.

“Davis Products has been an integral part of its community since the Eisenhower administration, witnessing and adapting to significant changes and challenges,” Long said. “It’s continued affiliation with NFIB highlights the critical role small businesses play in building and sustaining a strong economy.”
