SPECIAL TO THE DAILY NEWS
On June 10, the Washington Parish Chamber of Commerce proudly took part in Northshore Focus Day at the Louisiana State Capitol. The event offered a valuable opportunity for the Chamber to represent Washington Parish and engage with state leaders on key issues impacting the community.
Held in the Capitol Rotunda and sponsored by REV, Northshore Focus Day brought together chamber leaders, business professionals, and members of the legislative delegations from across the I-12 corridor. Participating chambers included the Washington Parish Chamber of Commerce, St. Tammany Chamber of Commerce, Tangipahoa Chamber of Commerce, and Livingston Parish Chamber of Commerce. Collectively, these organizations represent nearly 15,000 businesses and serve a population of over 600,000 residents.
The Washington Parish Chamber expressed appreciation to the St. Tammany and Tangipahoa Chambers for the invitation to participate and acknowledged the dedication of its board members who made the trip to Baton Rouge. Their presence underscored the Chamber’s commitment to advocating for the region and strengthening relationships with state lawmakers.
As a gesture of appreciation, the Washington Parish Chamber served cake to senators and representatives at the Capitol—a sweet token to thank them for their service and continued support of the Northshore region.
Northshore Focus Day served as a meaningful platform to foster regional collaboration, highlight shared priorities, and drive economic growth across the Northshore. Washington Parish was well represented—united, engaged, and proud.
