SPECIAL TO THE DAILY NEWS

Varnado High School extends its heartfelt thanks to Washington Commanders defensive end—and proud 2017 VHS graduate—Andre Jones, for once again giving back to his hometown by hosting his second Free Youth Football Camp.

With nearly 100 young athletes participating this year, Andre’s continued commitment to creating opportunities for local kids is both powerful and inspiring.

A special shoutout also goes to Delrick “Slim” Abram, a 2016 Varnado graduate, for standing alongside Andre and helping make the event a great success.

Both Andre and Delrick shined on the field during their time at Varnado, ultimately taking their athletic careers to the next level and beyond. Now, they’re using their platforms to uplift the next generation.

A VHS spokesperson shared, “We’re incredibly grateful for Andre’s desire to give back to the community and can’t wait to see what next year holds. His dedication makes a real impact on the lives of so many, and we’re proud to support him in his efforts. Thank you, Andre—we’re already looking forward to next year’s camp!”
