THE DAILY NEWS
For the first time ever, the Bogalusa and Franklinton Rotary Clubs came together for a joint installation banquet, and what a night it was! Laughter, fellowship, and a mouth-watering meal prepared by the one and only Rammie set the tone for an evening full of Rotary spirit.
Outgoing President, Heather Seal said, “It was my great honor to pass the gavel to Coylean, while Tiffany did the same, handing leadership over to Kim. With our theme for this Rotary year, “Join the Hive and Thrive”, we’re embracing the power of collaboration, unity, and community impact. And yes, I couldn’t resist adding a little flair: meet Rotabee the Politarian, our new club mascot!
Serving as president for the past two years has been one of the greatest privileges of my life. Our club has accomplished so much together, from two successful Clay Shoots led by Bill, to my personal favorite, The Night of Giving. What started as a dream became reality thanks to Tracey’s partnership and Tiffany’s continued support. This annual event, which brings our clubs together to shine a light on local nonprofit organizations, has quickly become a tradition I hope continues for years to come.”
This year’s banquet also included a moving message from Ellen Simpson Burford, founder of Moving Mountains Ministries, who shared the heart behind her organization’s mission. I’m thrilled to announce that her nonprofit will be the beneficiary of our upcoming 3rd Annual Night of Giving.
The group also had the joy of presenting a donation check to Clelie Dugan, Director of the Southeast Louisiana Pregnancy Center, using proceeds from last year’s event. It was a powerful reminder to the club of why we serve, and who we serve.
Special thanks to Judge Ellen McCain Creel for officiating the installation of our new presidents, and to George Bateman, who faithfully led the Four Way Test, as he has done for more than 50 years of dedicated Rotary service.
