WPCHS Hosts June Meeting with Library Director Who Announces New Angie Branch and Expanded Services

- WPCHS guest speaker, Sonnet Ireland, with the Washington Parish Library System, presented information on the services and programs available through the library. Sonnet Ireland accepted a Certificate of Leadership from Rusty Fornea, Executive Director of ADAPT, Inc. and Emma Ross, WPCHS President.

The Washington Parish Coalition on Human Services (WPCHS) held its monthly meeting on June 24, 2025 at the ADAPT Office. Sonnet Ireland, Director of Washington Parish Libraries, served as the guest speaker. Ms. Ireland provided an overview of the parish’s four current library branches and announced plans for a fifth location opening soon in Angie. She discussed the wide range of services available through the library system, including laptop and hotspot checkouts, copy and fax services, and access to free online resources such as Ancestry.com, NICHE Academy, and Resume Builder.
Ms. Ireland also highlighted several programs offered at library branches, including Storytime, Teen Night, and Recipe Swap, as well as their Summer Reading Program, Color Our World. She emphasized the library’s commitment to community engagement and access to educational resources.
