Bogalusa Man Arrested for Armed Robbery

BOGALUSA POLICE DEPARTMENT

On Friday, July 11, 2025, officers responded to a call for service involving an armed robbery and battery.

Once on scene, officers contacted a victim who had visible head injuries.  The victim told officers that two unknown males had attacked him, striking him several times with a firearm. According to the victim, the subjects also entered and took items from his vehicle during the encounter.

The subsequent investigation revealed that in addition to striking the victim, the suspect(s) had used the firearm and made threats of violence against the victim.  Officers were able to identify one of the suspects as 31 year old Shaquille Lewis of Bogalusa.

On July 12, 2025, Officers located and arrested Lewis on charges of Lrs 14:34.7-Aggravated Second Degree Battery, Lrs 14:60-Aggravated Burglary, Lrs 14:27;30-Attempted First Degree Murder.

During the arrest, Lewis was found to be in possession of a firearm which resulted in an additional charge of Lrs 14:95.1-Possession of a Weapon By A Convicted Felon.
