Three Baton Rouge men were arrested Monday, June 24, at the Washington Parish Courthouse after allegedly threatening multiple witnesses during an ongoing murder trial, according to the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded quickly after being alerted to a disturbance just outside the courtroom. Witnesses reported that three individuals directed threatening remarks at them as they exited the courtroom, including statements such as “I’ll do you something” and “I’ll roll up on you.”
Several court officials and bystanders overheard the comments, prompting law enforcement to intervene.
The individuals — identified as Camryn Hausey, 22; Neolandd Erin Archie, 22; and Chaz Elijah Nobles, 21, all of Baton Rouge — were taken into custody while waiting outside the courthouse. Each was charged with intimidation of a witness.
The three are being held at the Washington Parish Jail. As of Tuesday morning, no bond had been set.
The Sheriff’s Office emphasized that protecting the integrity of the judicial process is critical and that threats toward witnesses will be taken seriously and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
