SPECIAL TO THE DAILY NEWS
Franklinton Branch Library completed week five of their Summer Reading Program. Christopher DiBenedetto, author of Tanner the Turtle Learns to Swim, came to share his book. He entertained a crowd of about forty with songs about turtles, swimming, and show tunes while playing the keyboard. After the performance, patrons were able to make their own turtle. Those that had not added to the community mural also added their mark. The library would like to thank all who attended, the Washington Parish Friends of the Library, the Louisiana Office of Cultural Development, National Endowment for the Arts, and the Greater Baton Rouge Arts Council for making programs like this available. They would also like to give a special thank you to Jack Brown’s for providing popsicles. This week the library will be hosting the Pandorium Dance Company. They will be teaching all in attendance how to hulla. They will be at the Bogalusa Branch at 10:00 a.m. and the Franklinton Branch at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 10, 2025. Make sure to follow the Franklinton Branch Library on Facebook for weekly updates and more pictures of their events.
