On Aug. 23 the Bogalusa Police Department issued a call for public assistance in locating Paris Moses, 19, who was wanted on charges of attempted first-degree murder, armed robbery, armed robbery with a gun and illegal use of a weapon.

On Sept. 2 the BPD received word that police in Tulsa, Okla., had Moses in custody.

“They notified us, and we said we wanted him,” Maj. Gene Crosby said. “They put a hold on him for us, and Maj. Scott Adams and Corrections Officer Otis Taylor went to Tulsa and picked him up.”

Moses waived extradition, Crosby said, and he was brought back and booked into the city jail.

Moses is a suspect in an incident that left one man with multiple gunshot wounds.

Police were alerted about the Aug. 6 incident when staff at the LSU Bogalusa Medical Center called to report a gunshot victim in its emergency room. Police believe the shooting took place at the Main Street ballpark about 3:30 p.m..

Due to his injuries, it was a few days before the victim was able to talk to investigators, and the subsequent investigation led to the police obtaining warrants for Moses’ arrest, Chief Joe Culpepper said.

No additional information on the Oklahoma arrest was available at press time.
