Ben’s Ford Christian School lost its second straight game Friday, this one at Prentiss Christian, 12-7.
Eagles coach Tommy Pittman said his club, now 2-2, beat itself.
“Every time we broke off big runs they would get called back on penalties, and we had dropped passes,” Pittman said. “Defense played well, but the offense struggled. It was a tough loss.”
Pittman said the team needs to get back to it on Monday.
“We have a good team coming to our place Friday (Centreville),” Pittman said.
Aaron Taylor scored Ben’s Ford’s only touchdown in the game on a 21-yard run in the second quarter, which gave the Eagles a 7-6 lead after Will Owens’ extra point.
But Prentiss responded with the go-ahead, final score of the game.
Linebacker Jordan Thomas had a monster game for the Eagles with 18 tackles and two sacks.
Connor Gallaspy had 10 stops. Bryan Johnson intercepted a pass and returned it 50 yards, but the offense couldn’t capitalize on the turnover.
Ben’s Ford begins a two-game homestand Friday and opens District 6AA play against Centreville.
