Franklinton seniors C.J. Estave and Mack McElveen both had solid seasons to cap off their baseball careers at Franklinton.
Now the two have one more day on the field for high school baseball.
Both players were selected to play in the East Team in the LHSCA/LBCA East versus West All-Star Baseball Games set for Sunday, May 22.
The event features a doubleheader, seven innings each game, beginning at 3 p.m. at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. The games were originally scheduled for May 20-21 at North Park in Denham Springs, but were moved because of weather.
This season, Estave, who plays catcher, was the District 8-4A Most Valuable Player and a first-team all-district player.
McElveen, who mostly pitched and played third base, made first-team all-district as a utility player. McElveen was a composite all-academic student in the state.
The Demons had another solid year in 2016. Franklinton went 16-10 and reached the Class 4A quarterfinals before falling in the first two games of a best-of-three series to second-seeded St. Michael the Archangel.
